“Lakeside"

(Chapter 10:1)

It was quiet by the lake.

Hardly a breeze blew across the still waters. Nary a ripple gave any evidence of animal life within. It was as though a caress skimmed the water. A touch here, a slightly longer trace there, at different occasions the waters trembled.   Randomly as if a finger stirred the lake at times in some contemplation unknown.

In erratic spots the water would move. Rippling first nearer and farther in no certain pattern. Always in brief episodes; beginning and ending in short bursts. The waters themselves seemed cool but not cold. Often they gave relief to the climate that bore a somewhat tropical feel with the warmth of humidity.  Those who swam there were never chilled, and only the Survivors had heard of Ice or frozen lakes.

The New Born had no idea even what snow was.

The lake was silent. The water except for quivering, did not move. Cool water, moist warm atmosphere, activity was nil.

The air was never without aroma or scent.  All PlantKin seemed destined to compete for the attraction of those noses which would appreciate their individual liqueurs'. Notes on the scale the Music of Fragrance played on the airs to create; Eau’s de Flora, Eau de Fresh, Woody and Oriental.

Natural yet not oblique, the perfume to the area was heady to the novitiate. Intoxicating by absorption directing it into the brain, the fragrance was narcotic. An addiction to the sense of smell. Once tasted, it could never be enough, which with its memory would linger long after its first indulgence.

The variances changed seemingly by the minute of day.

The subtler shifts by blend were incalculable. Merely waiting attuned the palate to another perception of its complexity. By location there were changes, in movement separation, with never a moment not assaulted with delight by the envelopment of competing and completing sense. Sense of wholeness of the Kingdom of God by the per fuma of the smoke of assent of Creator to creation.

It was good.

The lake enhanced by its occasional dance of ripples seemed attuned to the notes of aromatic appeal. Together they often created a concerto of sight and smell. Who would not have been overwhelmed as PlantKin responding to freedom of expression delighted in life unto the Kingdom Age; with Earthkin in kind responding to the music in a dance all its own.

Perhaps it was only to delight the Creator. Mayhap to entice the other kinds of Creation. In all happen stance the effect was spectacular, nor regulated to merely one location or time.  Could it have been that this "kind" of creation rejoiced in by producing air refreshing atmosphere?

Certainly the effect was hypnotic, pheremonic to the senses.   Responses to the blessings the King had made of his creation as he had taken the Land.  This was the reaction to the calling forth by the 144,000. The “calling” of song that occasioned to sing in blessings of peace.

This was the Kingdom Age with much to be unlearned, but even more, to be appreciated in the wisdom of learning and the art of appreciation.

Delilah sat enjoying it all as if Heaven were a place on earth and she was in the midst of it.
