" Laughter"

(Chp 5:2)

It was funny

Laughing, giddy, insanity. Not knowing what was occurring but merely experiencing the feelings. Not caring what happened. It was freedom, it was exhilarating, insanity was…fun.

No thought, no reason, no urge to understand.

This was better just go from one goofy reality to another and never see anything that looked normal or made any sense at all. Why think? Just feel.  Don't react just look and laugh.

Absurdity was the rule now and he was just along for the ride.

Made sense to Tom,

Nonsense that is.

Feeling the wind whip through his hair was almost invigorating. It bordered on thrilling.  Never mind it was from being held by an angel. That was absurd. Of course it wasn’t real.

The beat of wings like a flock of geese thumping the atmosphere. Never mind they were high in the sky and not in a jet, ridiculous.  How absurd to feel the sheer force of each flap and accompaniment of power transmitted from the back wing muscles to the angels arms holding him, no way!!

Way!

How absurd that somehow this raw brute strength and something more, something surreal, felt almost comforting to him, that's crazy. And  yet those thoughts were that which kept him alive. That and laughter. It was funny. It was giggly.

It was Tom.

Strength in each flap. A beat in each thump. The Wings which cupped the air took on the sound of his heartbeat. Thump…, thump…, thump…, . His heart slowed to keep pace. The steady rhythm acted like a chant. A mantra it slowed his racing thoughts and rapid heart rate. His breathing became even. Slowly the sanity he had sought to escape slipped in the side doors of his mind. Sanity wrestled with Insanity for dominance. Who would win in the Octagon of His Reason?  It was martial law fighting martial arts with no winner in sight.

It made no sense at all.

The very minute the angel appeared Tom rejected the notion he saw what he thought he saw.

Since Tom had previously decided he didn't believe in God or accept God anymore he didn't now.

He had promised himself and swore to himself that he would never again be abused or deceived into believing something or someone that wasn't true.  So this could not be true. It could not be real. He must be dreaming now. A Dream in an insane mind and sooner or later he would wake up. Do the Insane dream? They must he thought and all he could do was to repeat to himself.

" I really am about to die."

" I really am about to die."

"I really am..,"
